Matthew 5:8

Jesus turns from the surface to the soul and declares a stunning truth: only the pure in heart will see God. But no one is born pure, and no amount of effort can cleanse the heart corrupted by sin. The hope of this passage is that the God we cannot see is the God who comes to purify us Himself. Through the blood of Christ, the Master Surgeon gives us a new heart — so we may behold His glory. Only Jesus makes the impure clean, and only Jesus makes the blind see.
